The Accuracy Debate: Do SEO Tools like Ahrefs/Semrush Show Correct Website Traffic?
A growing number of businesses rely on SEO tools such as Ahrefs and Semrush to make informed decisions regarding their online strategies. These tools offer a plethora of features, including keyword research, backlink analysis, and traffic estimation, which are pivotal for optimizing digital marketing efforts.
Despite their popularity, concerns have emerged regarding the accuracy of the traffic data provided by these platforms. Skepticism has arisen due to disparities between reported figures and actual website analytics.
By the way, these tools never show the real traffic as they can not do so because only the website owner can access the real traffic data through Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or any other Analytics tools that he has installed on his site. Their estimation is based on the site’s ranking for different keywords over SERPS, but it doesn’t mean that if a site is not ranking for any keywords, there is no traffic.
So, to prove this, I decided to check my own site, Rankcare.net. As per Ahrefs and Semrush, there is no traffic on this site. But when I checked the Analytics data, it was different, and you will be surprised to know it. Here is the screenshot:
So, just checking the SEO tools, nobody can know the real website’s visitors; they just show the hypothetical figure based on their own analysis. Only the real traffic figure stays with the webmaster, who has control over it.
